DESCRIPTION:“There is some kind of a sweet innocence in being human – in not having to be just happy or just sad – in the nature of being able to be both broken and whole\, at the same time.” C. JoyBell C.  \n  \nBeing human means being a living paradox\, while usually identifying with only a fraction of who we are. Trying to settle into one state (pleasant one\, if possible)\, feeling one emotion\, holding on strictly to who we are and who we are not… while missing out on the beautiful complexity and fullness of human state. \n  \nDuring the five days of the Echo of Simplicity\, we welcome all sides of us – being positive\, open and connected\, as well as being ambivalent\, resistant\, judgemental or hurt. Instead of choosing sides\, we make more room for everything we are\, trusting the truth of our body. Instead of resolving the paradox\, we let the body contain it\, move it\, express it and integrate it. \n  \nWhich human part of yourself do you want to accept? \n  \n🟠 ABOUT THE RETREAT:\nEcho of Simplicity was born in 2012 and we’ve been dancing with simultaneously accepting and changing ourselves ever since.\nEvery day we are together from 10:00 – 14:00\, and the rest of the day is free. The island offers us enough space for enjoying both solitude and company. \nThe methods we use are a combination of conscious dance / movement meditation\, somatic exercises\, transpersonal and body psychotherapy\, with elements of expressive art therapy.\nNo previous dance experience is required to participate in the retreat (although I highly recommend it)\, but curiosity about movement\, yourself and others is a must. If you have any special needs (physical\, mental or emotional) that might affect your participation in the retreat\, please let me know when you register.\nThe retreat will be led simultaneously in English and Croatian. \n  \n🟠 LED BY:\nEnesa Mahić\, a body psychotherapy educator\, supervisor and therapist  with more than 20 years of experience in body psychotherapy and conscious dance. Practitioner of Somatic Experiencing method of working with trauma\, expressive art therapist and a 5Rhythms teacher since 2011. \nCo-founder of CIR ICBP\, a training institute for body psychotherapy in Croatia\, Serbia and Hungary. \n  \n🟠 LOCATION: island of Vis\, Podšpilje\nThe dancers usually stay in the village of Rukavac\, which is a 15-minute drive from the venue in Podšpilje village (not walking distance)\, or in the towns of Vis and Komiža. There is an opportunity for dancers to connect with each other to share accommodation and cars\, as there is no functional public transportation on the island. \n  \n🟠 PRICE:\n300 € for applications until April 30th 2026\n400 € for applications from from May 1st 2026 \n  \nThere are 3 places in the working team for a 50% lower price and a special price for 2-3 members of the creative team. \nRegistration is valid after payment of a non-refundable deposit of 100 €\, which is included in the price of the retreat.
